The measure of antiperspirants' efficacy usually has to do with the quantity of the active ingredient, usually aluminum zirconium fill-in-the-blank. (Always aluminum something, but the specific chemical varies. no big deal--it's all about the same). This antiperspirant/deodorant has 20% aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex. Compared to a few other brands, here is what you will see:
Almay Hypoallergenic clear gel, Fragrance free: 25%
Speed Stick Irish Spring Original: 15%
Dove Ultimate Clear go fresh: 14.8%
I have sensitive skin, so most deodorants cause irritation, ranging from minor rashes to red bumps that can compound with razor burn; also, I am a professional dancer, so keeping funky smells at bay while sweating up a storm is a constant battle. Having said that, this deodorant is comparable to other good deodorants/antiperspirants in the smell department, holding up to most activities, but not 100% of them or all the time.
So on a 1-10 scale, "1" being you constantly smell horrible for no reason and "10" being impervious even to a rabid skunk attack, I would say this gets a very respectable "8".
As for the sensitive skin, this deodorant is much better than others. No itching, and only the usual mild razor burn that is not made worse by this product. So it did well!
The fragrance is almost undetectable, if you smell it at all. Nothing obnoxiously perfumed or flowery. Just the slightest hint of something sweet and clean.
As with all white deodorants that claim not to leave anything behind and be invisible, you will notice a little buildup in the little wrinkly folds of your armpits (doesn't that sound awful? I don't know what else to call it. Sorry!) So you will see some of that moist chalky stuff as with any deodorant. Hey, it's pretty clear, but it's not magical, so what can you expect? Nothing unusual here.
