Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher Gel, Lemon Scent, 42-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)Customer Review: Seventh Generation Dishwasher Gel Review Summary: 5 Stars
I love, love, love this product! It is all natural, no nasty chemicals, and doesn't harm the environment. It does cost a little more than the conventional, chemical ladden products out there, but Seventh Generation does a fantastic job. I haven't changed anything I do with this product, meaning I still rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher (not wash) and I still cram my dishwasher to the fullest capacity (because I detest hand washing!). Even with a crammed dishwasher full of dishes, this product did very well. I paired it with the environmentally friendly Seventh Generation Rinse Aid and you're good to go. If more people bought these environmentally friendly products, it would drive up demand and the cost would come down. My only complaint is that one bottle leaked in the box during shipping. Still, I highly recommend this product.
Customer Review: this stuff rocks!!! Summary: 5 Stars
i bought my first bottle of this stuff a month ago. my family can fill up a dishwasher like you would'nt believe. and to be honest, i dont really "clean" everything i put in there before starting the load. but this stuff reallly cleans my dishes well and fills the kitchen with a lovely lemon scent. the only time i ever had soap spots on my dishes is when i put too MUCH of the soap in. to me, this means the product lasts even longer. the fact that it doesnt really cost that much more than other soaps and that is enviro-friendly makes me want to try the other products this brand has. little by little, we are moving from all the things we did use to products that wont kill the earth and its inhabitants any quicker than we already are.
p.s. i didnt try the powder form of this, only the liquid
Customer Review: I vote "yes" for this "controversial" product!! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow, I was stunned to read all the negative reviews for this product! We've used it for years now, with great success, in a variety of different machines, as we move often for my job. It has always performed brilliantly, which makes me feel twice as good: I get clean dishes, and support "eco-friendliness" at the same time!
Many of the negative reviews seem quite thoughtful here, so I don't know what to say. My advice would be to give this product a try, and see how it compares to other detergents you have used. I believe odds are that it will stack up quite well.
There are lots of worse things you could do in shopping than giving this great company -- Seventh Generation -- 4 bucks for what I believe you will find to be an excellent product.
Customer Review: Works great in our dishwasher Summary: 5 Stars
We switched to this from the e-cover tablets (We rated 4 of 5 stars) and find this to be superior. We have a GE dishwasher that has the "SmartDispense" feature and I think it cleans better when it can add as much detergant as needed. The tablets were good but with very heavily soiled loads, they did not do the job. I'm glad 7th Gen came along with this product, I like it's enviro friendly features.
Note, we use pre-heat and pre-rinse with our machine as well. I think the combo of pre-heat, pre-rinse and SmartDispense in our machine makes the most effective use of this detergant. Your mileage may vary depending on your machine. We normally get 18 full loads with one full bottle. Oh - and it shines our glassware better.
Customer Review: Perfect for silver/silver plated utensils Summary: 5 Stars
We started using this product several years ago when we bought Christofle silver plate for our everyday silverware and HAD to use a NON-CHLORINE product or the silver would turn black. We have used it and bought it by the case ever since and have never had the problem of it coating our dishes, etc. I believe that issues is more of a water problem (well water vs. public, hardness vs. softness, etc) than product related. We have two dishwashers, they are older Fridgidaires and still no problem using this product to clean our dishes. I prefer the lemon scent to the green apple, which is just too industrial sweet smelling to me. But overall, we love this product and would not switch back even if we had non-silver plate utensils!
