Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher Powder, Free & Clear, 75-Ounces Boxes, Case Pack, (Pack of 8)Customer Review: Works pretty good Summary: 4 Stars
This detergent seems to work decently. It's hard to tell because we have a crappy dishwasher. Some of the boxes were leaking when they were delivered by UPS...Amazon needs to use better packaging with this product. I like that it's eco friendly, so I'll keep using it.
Customer Review: Great product for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I use Seventh Generation products all the time. It can get a bit pricey though. Buying it in the 75 oz. 8-pk, I saved a lot of money. It comes out to $5 per box when I buy it in bulk from Amazon.
Customer Review: 7th Generation Summary: 4 Stars
Great alternative to more caustic diswashing detergents. I have been using it for several years. I feel good about using it and my dishes come out great.
Customer Review: Works much better with the help of a couple of other products Summary: 3 Stars
By itself, this product doesn't work very well. I used to use it with Jet Dry but it would leave white powder all over my dishes. That improved dramatically when I switched to Wave Jet Rinse Agent--which surprised me since Wave is another environmentally sound product. I was still having a problem with stains in my dishwasher and ceramic mugs but when I started adding a scoop of Oxo-Brite at the beginning of the wash cycle, my cups now come out clean and my dishwasher is no longer stained. So this product really needs the help of these other two environmentally sound products to match the performance of the harsher products I used to use.
Customer Review: Not recommended for hard water Summary: 3 Stars
Unfortunately, I do not recommend this product for hard water. As soon as I started using it, it left a build up on all of my dishes. The dishwasher repair man (I thought my dishwasher was broken) explained that phosphates are required for hard water. I can continue to use the S. G. product, but I have to add 1 Tbs. phosphates to it. I also tried running a cycle with vinegar. That helped, but not quite as much as did adding the phosphates to the detergent. Just thought I'd post this info, as many people in my area have hard water and have experienced this same issue with the product.
