I was let down by Seventh Generation's fabric softener sheets. The positives were that they can be recycled or put in a compost bin after use and the paper is bleach free. That's pretty all this product has going for it.
In terms of added a nice scent to laundry, the product fails. It's completely ineffective at eliminating static cling. Those are the only two reasons I use dryer sheets.
My recommendation is not using sheets at all and sticking with an Earth-friendly liquid softener.

I am all environmentally friendly products and I could put up with the smell that it leaves the clothes smelling like a pizza box or even that the products may reduce flame resistance on garments labeled as such. But I have noticed that some of my whites come out of the dryer with stains that I am guessing are from these dryer sheets. Plus I am not sure effective they are when they routinely end up in small balls even after limited use.Customer Review: Clothes smell like they were never washed

At first I was excited to first use my Seventh Generation Fabric Softener Sheets - that is until I took them out of the dryer. My clothes stunk! They smelled like a stale clothes dryer. Without the fragrance placed in there by the manufacturer you end up with clothes that pick up odors from the dryer. I now realize why Downy and others include a fragrance. Without it the fragrance of the laundry detergent isn't enough to last through the dryer cycle. So if you want washed and dried clothes that smell like you never washed them, buy this product (or one that is unsented). Make sure you buy a scented product.
