I have to say this is not the first sleep mask I have ever owned but it is the first one that ever inspired me to review it.
The soft texture of the silk against your face is just light enough that you feel as though you aren't wearing anything and the stretchy fabric of the headband is comfortable and doesn't "dig" like some other products. It blocks the light out very well with the way the mask sits over your nose (you don't know how many masks I've owned that let in that crack of light just where the bridge of the nose is). I wear mine because I sleep during the day and work all night long.
My only negative for this product is the lace trim around the nose ... and it's possible that it's merely the way my nose is shaped but for some reason, the lace rests "funny" and tends to tickle my nose just enough to be annoying unless I tuck it up under the mask itself where it comes against my nose. Other than that, this mask is perfect for the "Day Sleepers". And the sassy message across the front makes me and my partner laugh because of my utter addiction to all things coffee.
