I am new to sinus problems. In fact, so much that it was hard for me to pinpoint what was wrong with me. My sinuses have been draining and I can feel it when I lay on my back. Very uncomfortable! Today I was on the elliptical at the gym and the left side of my nose area started burning really bad then it's like as if it broke free and that side started running like crazy. I didn't know if I was having a nose bleed or what! I came home miserable and remembered I got the Neti pot after seeing that episode of Oprah for a "just in case situation." I dug it out, used it, decided it was very easy and was rewarded with 2 tissues full of stuff. Funny thing is, my nose wasn't even the slightest stuffy before I used it so guess what? It ALL came from my sinuses. I will dig this out from now on that the slightest onset of irritation it helped so much. I used half a packet of solution mix with each side. If you get this, don't be like me and put it away for 2 yrs before using it lol. Its awesome and I didn't drown!Customer Review: Totally strange, but it changed my life

I bought this product out of desperation. I suffered from chronic sinus infections for years, and it got to the point where I was in constant pain and could not get through the day without a nap. Medications didn't help me at all.
I was a bit hesitant to use it because I was worried that it would hurt and/or add to my constant nosebleeds. It did neither.
After the first use, I could breathe through my nose again. After using it for a few days, I didn't need to take naps to make it through a day. After a week, I was totally free of pain and feeling great. It is AMAZING.
The first time you use it is very strange, but after that it becomes natural. I found that if I tilt my head down so that it is almost parallel with the ground I get some ear pain when using it, but keeping my head up more as it suggests in the instructions prevents this.
If you are considering it, it is a cheap option that is definitely worth trying.

I always thought this idea was a little gross, plus, since I am one of those people who nearly drowns myself in a few inches of water, I was understandably skeptical. But I continued to watch YouTube videos, read as much as I could, and after suffering through some pretty nasty post-nasal drip during my latest cold, I thought, "What could it hurt?" So I purchased one, read the directions, took a deep breath against drowning (lol), and tipped the pot into my nose.
No burning. No sense of drowning or gagging. One word: soothing. I was actually startled when the water started pouring out of my other nostril. I felt a difference almost immediately, and eagerly cleaned out the other side. My nasal passages were so clean that I could take a deep breath down to my toes - a wonderful feeling for someone who lives with antihistamines on a daily basis! So don't wonder anymore. Get one of these babies and start feeling good again!

I've had this product for two months now. At first, I just tried it once, found it unpleasant, and put it away without really giving it much of a chance.
To my surprise, a few weeks later when I went to my allergist to beg for some sinus relief, the Neti Pot was #1 on his list of suggestions for controlling sinus issues (along with a regimen of decongestants and nose sprays, naturally).
I admit, I was totally shocked that a doctor had just suggested the Neti Pot, considering I'd already dismissed it as hippie junk. I gave it a few more tries and started to get the hang of it, and now I'm a total zealot. This thing is magic! I honestly don't even know what I'd do without it, at this point. I certainly wouldn't be breathing so well through my nose.
Try it, and if you don't like it at first, keep trying! And keep your head tilted forward! You will not be disappointed, once you get the hang of it.

I was skeptical about the neti pot, but I was willing to try anything one wintery season when I was having such a terrible time breathing. I used a nasal spray that was only mildly effective, and it wasn't enough to let drift off to sleep comfortably. I did a little research about how to properly use a neti pot. This is really important. The temperature needs to be a little warm. You shouldn't put too much salt in the water. The salt also needs to be dissolved before you use it (pharmaceutical grade salt dissolves more quickly and doesn't have anti-caking agents that can irritate). There's also a correct posture to use, and it helps to be somewhat relaxed as you breathe through your mouth. I don't use it everyday, but when I do, I feel so much better being able to breathe deeply. It's exhilarating! Here's another tip--don't be in the bathroom with someone who makes you laugh while you're using your neti pot.
