Customer Review: This stuff made me feel like I was on fire

I decided to switch from my previous Niacin, which was 250mg that I was taking 2 pills a day, to a 500mg pill. My previous brand never mentioned "flush free" so I thought my body would not react to the Niacin that didn't say "flush free." But to be safe, when looking for a new brand, I saw the description above that said "Reduces the incidence of flushing and itching" and I was sold. Also, I was looking for a Niacin that was vegetarian (no gelatin), so this seemed ideal.
After about 30 minutes of taking Slo Niacin 500mg, my skin starting to feel like it was on fire. For hours I felt like I had a bad sunburn all over, especially on my limbs. I called my pharmacist and they said to just take a regular aspirin to help with that feeling. It helped very little.
It's about 10 hours later and FINALLY that burning feeling is subsiding. On that note, I've thrown out an entire bottle (99 tablets) of Slo Niacin (waste of $19.95). Going back to my Walgreen's Finest brand.

I HAVE BEEN TAKING ANOTHER BRAND OF NIACIN THAT COMES IN A CAPSULE (TINY BEADS ENCAPSULATED) AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. I COULDN'T FIND THE PRODUCT WHEN I WENT FOR REFILL AND BOUGHT THIS INSTEAD. FORGIVE MY "RUDE" DESCRIPTION BUT I FEEL I MUST REPORT. AS I STOOD FROM THE THRONE THE OTHER MORNING I LEANED OVER TO FLUSH AND BEHOLD, THERE IS THIS PINK THING! FRIGHTENED THAT I MIGHT BE SEEING EVIDENCE OF SOMETHING SERIOUS I TOOK A CLOSER PEEK, AND THERE IS WAS! THE LITTLE CAPSULE SHAPED PILL IN PERFECT UNDESOLVED CONDITION. I WILL BE SEARCHING FOR THE OTHER TYPE THAT I KNOW WILL BREAKDOWN AND DO THE JOB IT WAS INTENDED TO DO.Customer Review: Don't believe the REDUCED FLUSHING claim

I've been using Niacin at high doses for 3 years and the good news is that it helped raise my HDL just like they said it would. I changed brands to try this one and for the first time ever I had HORRIBLE flushing. If you don't know what that is - think of a sunburn that covers all of your skin. I woke up thinking I would see bright red sunburn over my whole body including your scalp.
This may well work for what it is intended to do but the flushing means there could be a heavy price to pay for it.
