This is the perfect product for people with psoriasis. No more getting cuts on our legs from the shavers. Plus, it exfoliates, too. I would recommend this to everyone for getting rid of leg hair.

Customer Review: Works in some places, not as well in others. Summary: 4 Stars
Embarrassing enough, I am a woman with coarse facial hair. I have extremely pale skin and my natural hair color is almost black. On top of that, my skin is also extremely sensitive to, really, anything. So, needless to say, this causes QUITE an embarrassing situation for me. I know there are many women out there that walk in my shoes every day but, like me, are very hesitant to admit it. Creams would always give me a rash, plucking always cause extreme skin irritation and took an hour every night to do. Waxing (yes, including from a salon) would always caused bad irritation and the at-home hair removers (e.g. Nads) not only didn't work, but would leave my face very red for days. I can't afford laser treatment and I went so far as to has my GYN if it could be helped through hormone therapy. Needless to say, none of it ever worked. I had to resort to shaving my face (namely my chin, upper lip and between my eyebrows) and use enough concealer to cover up the stubble and shadows that would occur later in the day. I was so embarrassed I wouldn't even let my husband touch my chin. I am only 27 and this has been a problem that has been increasing since I went through puberty fifteen years ago.
As a last resort, I decided to pick up Smooth Away. Like any of us good consumers, I was drawn in by the commercials and figured if it didn't work, it wasn't much money lost anyway. And then at least I'd know. So, after I put my kids to bed, I followed the directions. Here are my results:
1. It works pretty decently on forearms. It decreases the amount of hair so it's not nearly as noticeable but there is still a little fuzz that remains. That's okay with me because cream hair bleaches and hair removers on my arms left irritation anyway.
2. If you're expecting to use this only for your legs, armpits or "nether regions," don't expect good results. These places are very awkward to remove hair from in the first place and the hair tends to be VERY thick. While you will see a little result, it won't be enough to make you jump up in the air and shout for joy. Plus, it ends up being time consuming. For me, I'll stick with my trusty razor for these parts.
3. This is the reason why I gave this product 4 stars. It has worked AMAZINGLY on my face. I couldn't be more pleased. My chin is smooth for the first time since I don't remember when, it's faster and far less painful then shaving and is extremely effective. My face is smooth and I no longer look like I'm growing a beard by five o'clock every day. On top of that, it exfoliates the skin so my skin looks over all MUCH better! I absolutely love this thing and am obsessed with it.
Let me make a few suggestions:
A. Use it immediately after getting out of the shower or washing your face. You want your face to be cosmetic & dirt free and you want your pores nice and open.
B. Make sure to keep an oil-free moisturizer on hand. You are, in essence, sanding down your face (though gently!) so your skin is going to need the replenishment immediately afterwords.
C. Use in a circular motion
D. On coarser hair, use the bigger pad.
E. Don't plan on going anywhere for a little while. Like any other hair removal, your skin will be a little red afterwords and it's probably a good idea to leave cosmetics off your face for a little while so you don't risk clogging up your pores and getting a pimple or two.
These are the steps that work for me.
Like I said, this product doesn't work for everyone, but for me, it's been a miracle!!
Customer Review: Great for finer hair & less sensitive skin...great exfoliater too!! Summary: 4 Stars
I'm really happy with how well this product worked for me! Easily removed hair from my arms, legs & face after first attempt.
Pros:
=======
1) Convenient: now you don't need to shave only in the shower or have to apply lotions/cremes when out. Perfect for removing sporadic patches of hair. I love using mine in front of the TV and for quick touch-ups.
2) Painless: is not plucking and no sharp edges. Smooth texture gently buffs away hair...which it probably is doing because it's like a very very fine sandpaper.
3) Gentle: I bought Smooth Away largely in part for removing embarrassing peach fuzz on my face but wasn't sure if I would have adverse reactions. Threading & facial razors would give me small razor bumps and even a bit of small pimples. So far none with this product.
4) Exfoliates: my skin is much softer after use. I didn't even know I needed exfoliation on same areas until after I used the product. ...so I even decided to use it on areas of my face that didn't have hair to remove!
Cons:
=======
1) Pads probably last for 2-3 (both arms or both legs) uses max and constant refills might get pricey. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
2) Best for taut areas of skin.
3) I haven't tried it but would probably advise against using on underarms or bikini areas.
Usage:
=======
I followed the directions exactly, using small circular motions 3 times each direction and on dry skin hair. Found it lifted hair rather effortlessly with new pad and just slightly more force for used pad.
Disclaimers:
My hair is fairly fine to medium in coarseness. Not sure if this would work for thicker hairs. Also, the length of my hairs were short 1/8" to 1/4" inch (directions say hair should not be longer than 1/4" and I can see why)
Bottom line, try the product if you really want to despite the negative reviews. However, it may not work for everyone or maybe even the majority of the people based on the ratings. In my case I'm so glad I discovered a new favorite product :) If you're not sure you want to spend the money, you can try it for cheaper on eBay (make sure to get the original) or at Bed Bath and Beyond for about $8 with a coupon. Careful though, as I did read some people experienced redness and burning! So if your skin is sensitive beware. My skin is acne prone but luckily I didn't get any pimples or redness.
Hope this review helps.
