I'm not sure if this was just the individual machine that I bought, but it had an annoying static-type sound. I returned it. I got a cheap HomeMedics model, under $20, which I am happy with. The HomeMedics has a bit of oscillation to the sound, which might bother some people.Customer Review: Shorts out

After spending $80 for this sound machine, I was EXTREMELY frustrated when it started shorting out after just a few months. I'd have to jiggle the cord to get it to work, then eventually it wouldn't work at all - even with batteries. Now it's garbage.
