At first so impressed by travel size and charges which are for around the world-very convenient. Works on 220 V. BUT, if you use it for white noise, beware that it is very poor quality. It actually sounded like surf, but poor quality surf. Did not sound at all like my other white noise machines. Lots of looping. If you like these machines for birds, or other sounds, it might be viable, but this was sorely disappointing! Also, if you order from Sound Therapy, note that there is a restocking fee upon returning it. Had I known that upfront, I would not have ordered this poor quality machine.Customer Review: Cheap junk

The Sound Oasis travel sound therapy system failed first time I used it and was returned to Amazon. This is similar to the Brookstone Travel Tranquil Moments Alarm Clock Sound Therapy Machine (same product w/ different plastic shell) which failed after the first month. It is the same product as the Hammacher Schlemmer Travel Sleep Sound Generator. If you like the battery aspect, Hammacher Schlemmer gives a lifetime warranty on their version.
Since these are all pretty much the same cheap product, I'm trying a Marpac 330 sound conditioner which seems to get good reviews.

The clock did not keep time accurately. It was not possible to turn the volume down low enough for relaxed listening when using the earphones. Some of the recordings were of poor sound quality. Some were strange choices. Is there anyone who wants to listen to a train engine? I liked the stream recording and one of the recordings of waves, but they did not help me fall asleep. I used to have a recording of a thunderstorm that did help me fall asleep, but I didn't find this thunderstorm recording to be relaxing. Perhaps my ability to fall asleep has deteriorated.Customer Review: VERY disappointed with this product.

I was so disappointed with this product. I bought it last year...plugged it in and was immediately disappointed with the volume level (highest level not loud at all). I put the system in my travel closet, brought it out to pack for a trip - didn't work. Nothing, dead. It had been a couple of months since purchase, so figured I could not return it. I dearly miss my Sharper Image Travel Soother (had it for years, was GREAT). I still cannot find a comparable product and I would never buy another Sound Oasis (of any kind).Customer Review: High price, low quality

The first S-850 I received in the mail had an alarm set button that did not work, making it impossible to set or check the alarm. I mailed back that clock and received a replacement clock that worked for a little over a month, and then the speaker quit working, along with the headphone jack.
For $90, you figure the alarm clock would work out of the box. You figure wrong. There is a reason for the 30 day return policy.
Avoid this product at all costs, and ignore this review at your own peril.
