Customer Review: It seems kind of pricey to me but I am going to continue using it until my trial period is over.

I bought this item because I have a 10% hearing loss across the entire audible spectrum and I've had very little luck with hearing aids. Also I am not really interested in spending $5K on state-of-the-art hearing aids.
It is well-designed: sleek and ergonomic with controls that offer decent affordance. It works: It provides tremendous amplification and a very useful tone control. The two built-in mikes really work as advertised.
In short, everything in the product literature is true and accurate.
BUT ...
I have found a few things so far that I am unhappy with. Of course your experience may be quite different but here goes: It is very easy to induce a squealing feedback loop. When you touch the controls, you can hear them being manipulated (the sound of your fingers touching the device). Although it comes with a lanyard to put around your neck, my guess is that you will hear it bouncing against your body as you walk. The earbuds that come with the unit are obtrusive and there is no way to adjust them for individual comfort. The telephone adapter works only with conventional phones equipped with the ubiquitous RJ-11 plug; wireless phones do not seem to be supported.
I have not tried the IR receiver yet because my TVs do not emit IR signals. If you have an older TV, you will probably need the IR transmitter at extra cost.
It seems kind of pricey to me but I am going to continue using it until my trial period is over. If you decide to buy it, make sure you can return it because you have to make sure it is right for you.
