I recently started a jogging/running program on a treadmill. Unfortunately, I purchased rather cheap shoes ($30), and you get what you pay for. My ankles, shins and knees started aching within the first half mile every time I would run instead of walk. Yes, I'm a little older (40ish), but active in my job and on my feet all day with no problems. I bought these insoles, hoping to get some use out of my new crummy running shoes. I paid for one day shipping, they arrived the next day and what a difference. I replaced the 1/8 inch insoles in my shoes with these, and was able to run 3 miles without stopping! My feet are "normal", not high arches or anything. I will definitely spend more research time and money on my next pair of running shoes. But in the meantime these things have saved my workout program. By the way, the size (8-9 men) was perfect and I didn't need to trim any.
