Customer Review: A good product, but...

My title may be pretty unclear, but so are my feelings about this toothbrush.
I had not used an electric toothbrush in years because of sensitivity. Recently my dentist recommended it (warning of the possibility of periodenture if I don't get a more effective routine).
I am very happy with this toothbrush. In fact, I am quite surprised at how effective it is!
I bought one at a local drug store on sale for around $6. I liked it well enough that I went and bought another as a replacement at almost twice the price. That one immediately got picked up by a family member...and then I saw this offer from Amazon. Less than $5 apiece, ; that's a pretty astonishing price.
So, why 4 stars? Purely environmental. I would give the performance & cost 5 stars, but really don't like that I will be throwing away 4 electric toothbrushes/ year. More if everyone else in the family uses them. I think there has to be a better solution, but really don't want to spend 20x as much. Well, that's a puzzle I will have to work out.
For now I can say that I like this much better than I would have thought. The performance is terrific. Amazon's price is impossible to beat. A great deal all around...
except for what you'll be contributing to the landfill.
I will note that replacement heads were available (on the model I bought just weeks ago), however they cost almost as much as the toothbrush. Now replacing the heads and/ or batteries are not an option. Silly, really.
