Customer Review: Great idea - Wish it worked
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she was thrilled since she loves her bike odomenter and was interested in one for her stroller. Unfortunately, we had nothing but problems, from the computer contact not working (needed to have a 2nd one shipped to us) to the magnet not staying in position so it could record the wheel revolutions, to our toddler very easily ripping the sensor off the stroller, to the computer consistently freezing up on us. We are bummed to have sent our back and asked for a refund. Customer service was always great, but they couldn't fix the problems.

Customer Review: Could be attached better
Summary: 2 Stars

The display works well, when it gets a signal from the transmitter. The problem is the way the transmitter attaches to the frame of the stroller. Every time we use the stroller we have to readjust the transmitter so it doesn't rub against the wheel. I will most likely have to make something to mount to the frame of the running stroller. I have a different brand of speedometer/odometer for a bike and the zip tie attachment is much more secure.

Customer Review: DOA

I was very excited to learn about this product. I recently purchased it for my wife so she can track her walks with our first child. The product arrived very quickly, and all contents were in the package. I installed everything no problem. The documentation that comes with the product is very good. However, the sensor that attached to the stroller is not functioning - even though the magnet is properly installed and lined up with the "bulls eye" on the back of the sensor. I opened up the sensor case (which the instructions walk you through) and checked to see if the battery was in there - which it was. I suggest a design change to the battery compartment as it looks to be very delicate in terms of how the battery is held in place - this is important because the battery will need to be replaced at some point. In fact the instructions suggest that if the sensor is not functioning, it might be time to replace the battery. I have a hard time justifying doing this on a brand new product that was just opened. Why not ship the sensor without the battery installed? Then the battery might not drain. The receiver (LCD display) is shipped without the battery installed. Best case, a new battery would do the trick, or worst case I'd be out another $3 bucks going through the process of elimination. Anyway, I'm sending the product back instead of trying to troubleshoot a brand new product that should work as advertised out of the box. I think with some minor tweaks this could be a great product.

Customer Review: Nice concept, but incompatible with my stroller
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this before our vacation, thinking it would be nice to log our miles and to keep track of the temperature while we were out and about.

It took my husband 20-30 minutes to get it hooked up and caused him some frustration. (I tried to stay out of the way, so I'm not sure exactly what the problem was.)

After we had agreed on a location for the sensor, we calibrated the meter, and thought we were in the clear.

All was well until I tried to fold the stroller (a Maclaren Quest) and a) the stroller wouldn't close with the strollometer attached to its leg, and b) even if the stroller had closed, the wand would have to have been reset each time the stroller was unfolded.

If you're using this on a non-umbrella-type stroller or a stroller that you seldom fold, you may have better luck. But for my stroller, I couldn't find a place where it would work properly.

I was also disappointed to see that the mileage, etc. resets each night at midnight, so there's no logging of total miles on the odometer.

I'm sure this will work find for some purposes, but it wasn't the answer I was looking for.

Customer Review: Great in Theory
Summary: 1 Stars

I was so excited to get the Strollometer as a shower gift. Unfortunately, it never worked for more than a week. Here are the issues:

- the sensor that attaches near the wheel moved every time we went over a bumpy sidewalk, road or curb, as well as when loading in and out of the car. regularly, it would knock off the magnet on the wheel, so it couldn't read any more.

- the battery life was really short. the founder said that it's because the unit constantly measures temperature. my bicycle computers have batteries that last for 2 years with constant use, yet this battery died after 1 month of use.

- there is no odometer, just a trip odometer. in other words, all your data is erased every night at midnight, so you can't track how far or fast you went over the past week, month, etc.

Overall, the reliability issues caused me to return it. 5 stars to Giggle for excellent customer service -- They tried personally to fix it three times and then refunded it when I gave up.
