The Tanita BF680W Duo Scale is very simple to use and gives very consistent readings. I've been using it to monitor my body fat in addition to my weight. The key to getting consistent readings for body fat percentage definitely seems to be consistency in time of day the measurements are taken. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning.
The scale stores height, age, and sex information for 2 different users. It is easy to program these functions. The body fat percentage indicator goes in .1 increments. This is definitely a nice feature that many of the cheaper units do not offer. This is a great, simple to use product that I would recommend for anyone interested in monitoring not just their weight but also their body fat and water percentages.

Bought this scale after studying lots of owner reviews. My experience after about six weeks, matches best with the top reviews. The scale works correctly right out of the box. Setting up the data for two main users was relatively simple. Using the scale every day reveals that the unit functions reliably. It is sensitive and responds to daily changes in eating patterns, exercise activities and fluid intake. BMI and total body water percentage numbers remain very steady even though weight will fluctuate 2-3 pounds in a week. I can't say whether the BMI and TBW number are accurate in and of themselves, but they serve me well as reference points. I would certainly recommend this scale to other folks who want something more than a spring-based bathroom scale.Customer Review: Accurate weight and body fat

I did some research and bought the Tanita BF-680W based on several reviews. I realize that the body fat measurements probably need to be followed as trends rather than absolute numbers(percentage). However, I also bought an Accu-Measure pinch body fat caliper. Both the Accu-Measure and the Tanita measurements were exactly the same, about 18-20% on the Accu-measure, 19.4% on the Tanita (several measurements). My body weight was also the same as that measured on two different scales at my gym. The instructions were clear and it was easy to program. I am pretty average weight and build (170 lbs, 5' 10") and the algorithms are doing a pretty good job for me. I can't say what the results would be for an body type further out on the extreme.Customer Review: A consistent scale

i'm absolutely obsessed with weighing myself constantly to see how running a mile or drinking a glass of water effects my weight. i was looking for a consistent scale and i finally found one. Although I believe it consistently weighs me 1 lb less than I really am, I am happy to get a consistent weigh within 0.2 lb accuracy. For example, I can stand on the scale 10 times in a row and i'll get the same weight every time within .2 pounds. The body fat and body water I don't trust to be accurage, but they are very consistent (+-.75%) which is most important to me. The thing I like about this scale is that it is accurate and give you everything you need to know---everything that is important. You get your weight but also your percentage of body fat (more important than weight). Then so you aren't fooled into loosing water and thinking you have lost fat you get you hydration level to (as a percentage). I got a impendance type body composition done by a medical screening place and this unit was only 0.2% off so I would say "dead on".
You can make comparisons with your previous readings and know if you are heading in the correct direction... the objective is to loose body fat right?
