I have been using TarGard for the past four years. A nurse told me about then when my husband was in the hospital for emergency heart surgery. He quit smoking (and has never smoked since) after they put a couple of stints in his heart. I still smoke but have cut down to 1/2 pack a day from 1 1/2 packs per day with the help of this product. At first I had the same problem that many have with the filters being defective. I found that if you use a toothpick to clear the tiny hole when you find a filter that is clogged, you will be able to use virtually all the filters in the bag. You can also straighten a paper clip and insert in the hole if you don't have toothpicks handy. Works for me and I can use one filter for a pack because the toothpicks not only clear the opening but can be used to later clean it out to a certain degree, extending the life of the filter. Hope the tip works for you as well. This review is for the amber color filters, not the Mini. Don't think the toothpick would work on the mini filter.Customer Review: Great hits!

These things make the hit on a cigarette much smoother. I don't recommend them to quit because turning to any other alternative besides willpower will almost certainly not work. These enhance the smoking pleasure and do help you cut back on how much you smoke. That much I'll say.
They are GREAT for handrolleds so I don't have to bother applying regular filters onto them (which is much more time consuming). I highly suggest these if you want to reduce your tar (why not?! :D) and reduce your inhaled nicotine so you may cut back a bit (not guaranteed but still, in my case I found I smoked half of what I normally smoked and didn't even notice).

I started using the TarGard mini disposables about 2 months ago and what a difference they've made. They do remove a lot of the tar, as you can see visibly in the filter chamber. They do not change the taste of your cigarette, and after getting used to them, you adjust your draw so your cigarettes taste the same. These are a great product and I highly recommend them if you are going to continue to smoke.
*note: I tried the larger targard filter with removeable parts and the metal filter is larger. My cigarette kept falling out of it, so I've gone back to the mini filters.

After searching all places and finding two where I could purchase the Targards, buying online through Amazon, gave me a better product, price and I didn't have to drive all over town to get them. I have been using these filters to help me stop smoking for about a year. They have helped me cut back half of my volume daily, and I can't wait to see what the next six months brings. The shipping was quite fast, for days . The packaging protected the product securely, and I will certainly purchase this and future products through Amazon.Customer Review: good product

not one in the bag of 100, over the last bags i have bought since using them over 3 years ago, has been an inferior product. I cannot smoke already filtered cigerettes, due to what ever they use in the process of making them, so i roll my own smokes.. finding and using this product, which i have tried many filters, is the best i have ever used. I highly reccommend it to anyone wanting to take the tar out of their smoking.... being plastic, recycling them is an option i adore...
