Customer Reviews of Taylor of Old Bond Street Pre-shave Oil [Health and Beauty]Customer Review: shaving with aroma therapy Summary: 4 Stars
This has a wonderful scent and the only way to shave! Once you have used a shaving oil to soften your beard and bald head you can't shave any other way. And the scent gives you a little aroma therapy...A great product.
Customer Review: Very Oily Summary: 2 Stars
This oil will help lubricate your shave, but it has some serious down sides. When they call this oil, they are not kidding. It is like Castrol 10W30 motor oil only stickier. That might be an exaggeration, but this stuff is pretty much straight up oil -- not a lotion in the sense you're probably used to. It defiles your sink, gums your brush, and clogs your razor. You have to use a lot of soap to cut the sticky, oily film on your hands after applying the oil to your face. It doesn't soak in. It doesn't go away. Old Taylor of James Bond Street makes a great soap, but their pre- and post-shave products leave a lot to be desired in IMO.
Customer Review: Messy Summary: 1 Stars
This shave oil smells fantastic, but otherwise I was disappointed. It is supposed to be "pre-shave", but I found that it was a little on the sticky side and made it difficult for the soap to go on over it. Then, during the shave, it really gummed up the blades and left a oily residue in the sink. I think if you stick with a good shave soap or cream, you don't really need the "preshave."
