I bought this remote for my 94 year old grandmother because she always hit the wrong button on her old multi-function remote that would disable the TV buttons. No matter how many times I showed my grandmother how to enable the TV buttons on her remote, she could never understand. The remote is the perfect size, the buttons have a great feel, the buttons are big and bright, and the remote programming procedure is foolproof. The only thing I wish it didn't have was the mute button, but hitting the mute button again or volume button turns the sound back on. The remote is working on a 14 year old RCA color television. I want one for my LCD HDTV, because I never liked multi-function remotes becase the wrong button is always pushed in the dark that disables changing the TV channel. This remote is wonderfully simple to use, simple to program, and works perfectly. Highly recommended for all.Customer Review: Best purchase in a long time

I can not tell you the number stores I have raced out to trying to get my 89 year old dad a different controller. He just never understood any of them. In the assist living place he is at he only has cable, so he didn't need anything else on a tv/cable controller. For months he wasn't able to use the other controller he had. He wasn't able to turn the tv off or if he did try he would get very confused and try to turn it off with the phone. Therefore 9 times out of 10 hanging up on me. The conversation after when we finally got back together on the phone was why did I hang up!!! This is so easy to use, the buttons are big and the field of the ray if you will going to the tv is so large, it really helps. If you have an older parent or friend with problems with tv controllers, just try this one. Easy to set up and the price is right.

This is a great alternatve to the mega button remotes that do everything in the world, but nothing easily.
This does just what it says exceptionally well and easily. -- even the initial configuring is really a snap.
It supports only the TV / cable --so you will have to get up to control the DVD / VCR --not a problem for us.
It doesn't let you flip back and forth between stations with one button and you can not punch in a channel number and go directly to the channel--you have to sequentially go through the channels --none of which are problems for us.
I am replacing all our mega button remotes with this simple alternative.

Seriously this product is outstanding. I ordered this from Amazon for $22.xx shipped. This remote was for my grandmother who was constantly resetting things on her tv with her remote that I would have to go over there and fix. This remote does more than solve that problem. The six buttons are all she needs. The controller is large and lights up. The thing she was the most excited about was that when the phone rings she can mute the TV (her old remote could do that, I just don't think she knew that). Anyway, for an elderly person this is close to the best 25 bucks you could spend on them. It will no doubt make you life and their life much easier.Customer Review: Wonderful

I bought this for mom Mom who is getting older and from time to time would have difficulty with her T.V. remote. I believe her problem would start when she would go to pick up her remote and accidently push a button that would take the remote off the T.V. mode, to some other mode like the VCR or Cable mode. Then she was unable to get it back to the T.V. And I would get a call to come fix her T.V. This remote has solved the problem. It's easy to set up, only took a minute, easy to use, and I haven't received any more calls. I would recommend this to any one in a similar situation.
