I purchased this thermometer on the premise that it would take an accurate temperature of my son faster than a conventional digital thermometer and would be easier to use while he slept. While the product has proven itself quite easy to use, it has been basically useless to me because it never registers the same temperature twice. The temperature this thermometer displays can range wildly over the course of just a minute and frequently displays a normal temperature reading when my son is burning up and obviously has a fever. This thermometer has complicated the diagnosis of my son's well-being and I am left "hoping" that I am getting an accurate temperature instead of having the peace of mind a thermometer should offer when obtaining a true and consistent reading. I suggest making a different choice of thermometer for your family.

This thermometer gives very inconsistent and inaccurate readings. The difference sometimes could be over 1 degree Fahrenheit. The ear reading is always lower than the rectal reading but they are supposed to be the same. It gave me a headache when my daughter was sick last week. I couldn't take a correct temperature. I took several readings from both ears and they were all different. When I took my daughter to see the pediatrician, they took her temperature by ear at the clinic. Then I used mine to measure again immediately. My reading was almost 2 degrees lower than theirs. That was too off. I am not going to keep it and will order a Braun. Don't waste your money on it. Go for a better one even it is more expensive.Customer Review: Not very good

Cheaply made, this thermometer always shifts over to Celsius scale from Fahrenheit. The manufacturer knows it does this and actually wrote in the instructions that if we customers didn't like that, we should learn metric measurement. I bought this to take temperatures with quickly and legibly, not to get a lesson in temperature conversion. No backlight and very difficult to read except under bright light. Short battery life (6 months). I have bought another thermometer and am much happier. This isn't a very good product at all.Customer Review: I hate this thing!

This is the very worst thermometer that I have EVER used in my life! It is inaccurate no matter what you do. It changes back and forth from F to C on it's own! It is an awful product!
