I recently moved into a new downtown apartment, and was proud of myself for ditching all of my accumulated bachelor furniture, and had purchased a nice bedroom set and decorations. I also purchased a clapper on a whim for my bedside lamp. The hilarity of the clapper stems from my roommate or friends, or anyone who knows I have it being able to turn my lights on and off from the other side of the door.
One fateful night I met a girl of loose moral standards and brought her home under the auspices of playing guitar hero / foosball / hide the sausage. We went into the bedroom and started to make whoopie but my headboard was placed a critical one eighth inch off the wall. Enter my trusty Clapper.
The gentle oscillations of my bed matched the headboards resonant frequency which quickly overcame the one eighth inch boundary, and shortly thereafter a faint sound, not unlike the sound of clapping, came out of my bed and a rather comical disco-rodeo scene ensued as my new friend tried to run me out of tuna town.

After reading the reviews on here about the Clapper and Clapper Plus being a fire hazard, I was definitely concerned. However, I figured I planned on using it just for a lamp, not any high-end, high-voltage devices, so I went for it. I am certainly glad I did. The Clapper Plus does everything it advertises. You cannot beat the wireless remote. We had an original Clapper a while back. When my wife and I would go to bed, one of us would stay up reading longer than the other. Then to turn the light off, you had to clap (fairly loudly) to turn the lights off. This woke the other one up several times. With the Clapper Plus, we simply click (and I say click, but the remote makes NO noise at all) the button and lights are out. WE LOVE OUR Clapper Plus!!!
As always, Amazon did a great job of packaging and delivering the product with no problems at all.
Customer Review: Good for switching units that are difficult to reach

If you have a light switch (or other light appliance switch) that's hard to reach, this device will solve the problem.
In my case, I installed a small fluorescent lamp at the ceiling of my cabin next to a wall, ran its power cord through the wall into the adjoining shed, and plugged it into a receptacle there. But the switch was a bit too high up to be convenient, and I didn't want to install a pull-chain switch.
I bought a "Clapper Plus" and plugged it into the receptacle in the shed, then plugged the light into it. Now, I can turn on the light by tapping the wall, or by pressing the button on the included RF remote control. The Clapper itself is on the other side of the cabin wall, so everything looks neat and uncluttered in the cabin.

This works either as a regular Clapper (you know, "clap on, clap off") or as a remote control switch. So, you can turn on up to two lights or appliances by pressing one of the two buttons on the remote control. It's a fairly sophisticated device, hence the hefty price tag. It has adjustable sensitivity if used as a clapper, and even has a vacation feature where it will turn on a light if a noise triggers it. The unit plugs into the wall outlet and up to two lamps or appliances plug into the unit. This is perfect for my older mom, so she does not need to lean out of the bed to shut her bedside lamp after reading. The remote works even with the unit BEHIND the bed - I worried at first that the signal would not reach the unit but there was no problem. My clapper arrived on Wednesday and I am now using it with great success. Clapping is very effective...it does not fail me. Also, I have used the remote which is on my nightstand and it works perfectly too. My puppy, a tiny chihuaha, sleeps in my bed and clapping sometimes awakens him. So, when he is napping, I use the remote. I haven't used the second receptacle for an additional electrical item; so I am unable to comment at this time about how that will work. I highly recommend the clapper for those of us who are having knee surgery and preparing our homes for the rehab period.....or for anyone needing to turn electrical items on/off without getting up to do so. Thanks Amazon....
