I have an incandescent floor lamp and the Clapper works great with it. OTOH, another lamp is fitted with fluorescent bulbs, and the Clapper doesn't work at all. I called the manufacturer and only then was told that the Clapper will not work with a fluorescent fixture. Nowhere is that mentioned. Beware.Customer Review: Works, but not with fluorescent lights

this product lived up to what was promised but I should warn future buyers that it is very sensitive; i.e. when I cough or my phone rings my lights often go off. if you are patient it is not much of a nuisance but for the rest of you i suggest getting up and walking to the switch.Customer Review: sound activated light

rather than clapping (which works just like commercials), I placed this in a dark hallway which has no access to a light switch. Anytime you're transiting you can make a little noise and the clapper will kick on your light. It's like having a power saving night light.Customer Review: I like!

I'm using my clapper to turn on/off the torch lamp in my bedroom, and so far, it's working as it should be. If you're using it for an appliance other than a lamp, I suggest you read other reviews. If you plan to use it for a lamp, I say it works as it should be.
