Customer Reviews of Tweezerman Men's Shaving BrushCustomer Review: A Good Shaving Brush Summary: 5 Stars
I've used the same old $4 brush I brought at CVS for years. You would get a workout trying to whip up a lather. I brought this one, after reading the reviews. I was surprised first I had no trouble lathering up, and second, I forgot to shake the brush of excess water, and still got a decent lather. Before it was hit and miss if I had a drop too much or little of water, no lather, or soupy lather. I only used it once, and it's still too early to know if any of the hairs will start coming out. Normally I wouldn't give a product a 5 after one try, I wait months before I write a review to make sure. The brush made such a huge difference apparently. Normally the lather would disappear on my lower neck and I would have to put more on. Not this time. All that I mentioned, is why it rates a definite 5.
Customer Review: James Bond would be proud! Summary: 5 Stars
This brush will give you such a smooth shave James Bond will be jealous. I got this brush for Valentine's Day to replace an old brush of my grandfather's, and it's awesome. It takes much less soap to use, and you can feel it working, but not in an uncomfortable way. I got a close smooth shave with no knicks or burns, which makes all the difference. The handle is a nice dark wood stain which makes it look much better crafted than the one in the picture. You can SMELL the stain when the brush is wet, hopefully that might go away or be less loud the more I use it. Highly recommended!
On a side note, skip the multi blade jazz and get a safety razor or a two blade one. I use a Gilette Atra II razor, and I haven't had a better shave since switching to it and a brush.
Customer Review: An excellent addition to your shaving routine! Summary: 5 Stars
I made the switch to safety razor shaving, and this brush is now part of my shaving kit. It's a nice size, and really sucks up and retains water and soap. I like how frothy the shaving soap gets when you swish it around with this brush in a mug. When applying it, you can feel your face get warm and stimulated, and your stubble being pushed outwards for a closer shave.
I have noticed a slight musky odor, but it's not strong and will probably fade over time. A few hairs have come off as well, but again I think this is normal at first. The brush has to "get used to" being swirled around in hot water and cream. I set it on its side to dry, but there are stands you can buy to hang it so the brush part drips downward.
Customer Review: does a great job, well made and good value Summary: 5 Stars
I'd still be using this only a maid in a hotel evidently decided her husband or her legs would be better off using it than I would. Good thing the brush was inexpensive.
That said, it's not "cheap" but very good value. The bristles may or may not be badger but they work well and are well adhered to the handle. It whips up a good head of soap and doesn't get too bogged down or stiff with soap residue nor does it shed much after a day or so. The handle itself fits well in your hand and has decent weight.
Given the rather ridiculous price of many other brushes, this one is great. If you're not out to make a fashion statement to your mirror or your spouse I'd say it's the one to get.
Customer Review: Great deal, why bother paying so much more? Summary: 5 Stars
I searched around the internet for shaving brushes, and I thought a good one was going to cost me upwards of $50-$75. I was quite mistaken! It's not the most attractive brush I've seen for sale (no fancy chrome or extraneously colored hair), but it does its job as well as I could imagine an expensive one accomplishing. Sure, it loses maybe a hair every few shaves, but they haven't interfered with my shaving at all (I've only seen them in the soap mug, never on my face), and I doubt any brush is hair-loss proof, no matter how much money you spend.
I even let a friend try it out, and now I'm ordering one for him!
Highly recommended.
