These Unger Grabbers lift most weight and are of the best construction I have found to date. Many of the others simply do not have the strength to pick up a weight more then a couple of pounds. I especially like the curve of the jaws, found only on the Unger's, unlike the parallel (straight) jaws of the other products. As the curved jaws make it easy for me to pick up a small bowl as it is cradled by the grabber. So I can scoop up my cat's food bowl rather than having to grip it. I bought this one specifically for this purpose. I also have a couple of the shorter ones for picking things up or moving them about.
Yes, you can pick up a dime with these tools as well.
These Unger's cost more yet are much stronger and more useful than the cheaper ones.
Buy this one, 52" only if you really need the extra length. If you only buy one get the next size shorter.

Works great, sturdy. 52" is a little long if you are going to hold a bag, but great for reaching in to bushes. I cleaned up an old fire pit in a couple hours without any issues filled with bottles, cans and contractor trash.
