Great set...The first shave set that I owned was the old Van Der Hagen Shave set that was good for the beginner. Since then I have purchased the Art of Shaving Sandalwood set with the badger brush (great, but $100). I wish this new Van Der Hagen set would have came out sooner, I would have saved $100. The brush from TAOS is great but I LOVE the one from this set..Perfect height and weight..REAL BADGER HAIR..I know because I forgot to wash the brush with shampoo prior to the first use and it smelled like a wet dog...REMEMBER TO SHAMPOO BRUSH BEFORE USE...The mug I love as well..Perfectly designed...I have not tried the soap as of yet since I wanted to try the brush with my Proraso cream but it smells great...The stand is nice, not all that..Does what it is supposed to, hold a brush and a razor..Nothing to display and show off..It looks like it was a single piece of acrylic that was melted and formed into shape..Nothing to write home about but great add on...Over all if you are into wet shaving or know someone who is, BUY THIS SET if they do not all ready have it..
