This lamp "built to last a lifetime" with a one year limited warranty gives good light, but when the ballast burns out, as it did for me in less than a year, the ballast is not replaceable or repairable. If you can find your receipt and warranty information, you can pay to mail it back to the company if you promise to pay their shipping costs to mail a new lamp to you, and then they'll consider sending you a new replacement lamp. WHoppeee. So add the extra $40 to the cost you pay when you buy the lamp, and the time you spend getting a new one, before you decide to buy IF you plan on using it for more than a year.
Personally, I have better things to do with my time than replace a lamp once a year that costs more than $100.
