It's not a 'decor' item: it's more business-like than that. Simply put: it's a standing lamp which is highly flexible in height and flexible in the way you can point the lamp so it's on the work and not in your eyes. It was just right for reading in my recliner. I wouldn't use it out in the living room, but it's nice in my den.
