Customer Reviews of Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist HumidifierCustomer Review: No more bloody stuffy nose Summary: 5 Stars
I was desperate to buy a humidifier as my baby's nose was bleeding due to the summer weather and I guess closed bedroom conditions. Checked the customer reviews and price wasn't that bad. I am quite happy with my purchase. This humidifier does its job!!! With its sound, we are not so bothered. Actually it does good - cutting/minimizing unwanted sound from the neighborhood apartments. Also helps when you want to sleep when your family members are watching TV in the other room or on the phone. I fill water every 3 days and I just clean clean with the running tap water. Anyone can advise me on how to clean, replace filters etc. Overall, it does humidify our bedroom and no more bloody nose!!!
Customer Review: Great Humidifer Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my wife who was having sinus troubles and dry skin. I turn it on full blast at night and during the day I leave it on low. The highest setting is load but its not load enough to wake me up at night and I sleep right next to it.
The filter gets nasty after a few weeks but i just read in one of the other reviews that you should let it dry out once a week. I think I'll try drying out the filter the weekend.
But the machine works great and I have not yet seen walls dripping or the machine leaking. Just make sure after you fill up the tank with cool clean water turn the cap and make sure its closed properly.
Great cheap humidifier.
Customer Review: So far I like this item but I do have questions... Summary: 5 Stars
On first page #6 reads Do not operate without water. Turn off unit when tank is empty.
But under "Weekly Maintenance" #1 says to empty the tank of water. #2 Turn switch to on and operate the humidifier until the wicking filter is dry. Did it just not say that we shouldn't operate without water??
Speaking of the wicking filter, everyday you should empty the tank and tray of water so it doesn't build up mold. What about the filter? it sits wet everyday and never drys out...doesn't this create mold also?
All in all it is easy to take care of and clean and beats the old misting systems that leave white soot everywhere.
Customer Review: Works great in my baby's nursery Summary: 5 Stars
My baby has a very tiny room and I was reluctant to buy a humidifier for fear of wet walls, carpet, furniture, etc. This model seemed smaller than others so I thought I'd give it a try. I've used it for only 2 days now but it works great so far. Her room feels very comfortable, not overly humid (on low setting). There is no mist coming out so you hardly notice that it is on unless you put your hand to the front and feel the cool air coming out. The noise does not bother her when she is sleeping and actually probably helps as a white noise background. I'm glad that I purchased this model and might buy one for my bedroom as well.
Customer Review: works perfectly Summary: 5 Stars
ive had this humidifyer for a few months now and am more than happy with my purchase. i use it in a 400sf studio apartment in NYC w/ 10 foot ceilings and steam heat. the humidifyer puts out about a gallon of water a day (please note upper 70's temperature in apartment) and does a great job of making the space liveable. since it works by evaporation there is no blown cloud of mineral deposits on everything. i can actually place this right next to my couch and not damage the fabric. i always use the quiet setting (high is far too loud). this would be the only thing i would change about this humidifyer.
