When my 4 month old had croup, the doctor recommended a cool mist vaporizer. We purchased this model. We don't have any complaints that would prevent people from purchasing it. We keep it on medium setting and that works well to drown out noise that would wake my baby up. It's difficult to find new wicks for it, but we found where to purchase them online. We actually use it more for white noise than moisture, our baby sleeps on the ground floor, the loud setting is perfect till we go to bed. Makes his room rather cold, but we turn it down when we go to bed. The lowest setting is hardly audible. Makes loud clunky water noises every now and then, but thankfully doesn't wake him. I'm in need of a new filter now, hoping to find one easily....Customer Review: So Far So Good

I bought this humidifier for my office, which is as dry as the Sahara! So far, it seems to be working pretty well. The high setting is very noisy, however. No white dust all over everything, which is a big plus. Keeping my fingers crossed that it holds up longer than three months (the life of my last humidifier).Customer Review: good - but loud and COLD

I hate to be negative. The humidifier works - however the high speed - is incredibly noisy - and the medium is also loud so I leave it on the lowest setting. Also, the room will tend to get a lot colder - will be perfect when it's warmer out. But we do use it every night - so far so good.Customer Review: It is good on MEDIUM

It is overall a good product. It is VERY loud on the highest setting. very quiet on the lowest setting, but less usefull. We keeep it on MEDIUM where the noise is acceptable. Did not have to buy filters yet, so I am not sure what is the maintanance cost.
