VitaMedica's Bromelain with Quercetin is a natural nutritional supplement with excellent anti-inflammatory properties that helps support the body's healing process. Bromelain is an enzyme that inhibits compounds called prostaglandins that cause inflammation, and promotes the formation of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. Quercetin is a plant pigment found in large amounts in foods such as onions and apples that inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators including histamine. Together, Bromelain and Quercetin work synergistically to reduce the bruising and swelling associated with surgical procedures.
