Today, this Wahl trimmer was put to rest. I had to throw it away, as it was no longer hygienic for personal use. I kept it very clean, and well oiled. Yet, it was definitely time to 'can it' because it was starting to look nasty.
Understand that this was purchased in Summer 2008. I'm extremely happy with the value received from this trimmer - I used it almost every day.
I never used the attachments provided, but the unit itself is well worth the money.
It lasted about 3 years.

I owned my first about a year and a half before I broke the blade from dropping it once too many.
However, this is a very great performing and durable product, which I used daily with a heavy beard.
I ordered my second today to replace it--for $20 you can't go wrong, and maybe I will find another blade for my first (amazon sells the replacement blades through a 3rd party, but the price of shipping would have put it at the same as a new 9918--I used amazon super saver shipping for this 9918).

Things I like:
*Battery charging, gives you freedom to roam around.
*High speed motor, save time and don't pull you hairs in.
*Depth of cut, gives better trim. (Its not a razer, so don't try comparing apples with oranges)
*A lot cheeper in this price
Things I don't like:
*Small width
*less options to change size
Net result is positive, you wont regret it in this price.

I'm loving this trimmer. I trim my goatee fairly short. Setting attachments are perfect. Take off the attachments and I shave the hairs on the back of my neck. (Perfect for trimming chest hairs and other hairs too.) Very sturdy in the hand. Well made. Charge lasts a long time. I read other reviews that mentioned attachments are difficult to get off. I'm NOT having that problem. Snug fit (which is GOOD), but I have no problem removing them. SO FAR SO GOOD !!!!Customer Review: great trim

i just got my order today. and i didn't shave over the last week so i have something to try it on. the product i got charged. i was able to use it right out of the package. the experience was nice. i was able to trim my beard to a 5am shadow. better than the trimming scissors i used before.
amazon is great they delivered it ahead of schedule the fact that i'm here at the other side of the world, manila, philippines. thanks a lot.
