Customer Review: The Peanut Gets it Done!---Update

I have been shaving my head for over 10 years. I have used most every blade, cream, gel or electric razor on the market. The closest shave for me has been a Mach 3 with a shaving gel. However, shaving my head every day with a blade takes a lot of time and alot of Mach 3 razors---Additionally, I am prone to ingrown hairs on the back of my head. Because of these reasons, I thought I would try the peanut. WOW!!!!! What a great product. It does not shave as close as a blade but it is darn close and it shaves much closer than any other clipper out there. (now that I have lots of gray hair, the very close cut looks like a shave) Using the Peanut has solved my ingrown hair issue completely. This little bugger is very well made and has plenty of power. Also, I have NEVER cut myself with it. The best shave will always be a blade but the Peanut gets the job done in a third of the time, with no cuts or ingrown hairs. It's a winner.
UPDATE Aug 2009......the Peanut continues to amaze. It cuts just as good as the day I bought it in 2007. No pulled hairs, the white blade guards still snap on firmly and I am still on the original blade! A drop of mineral oil every now and then is the only maintenance I've done. Finally a quality product that works and lasts. Bravo Wahl Bravo!!!!

I am a professional hairstylist and I have been using the Peanut clippers for quite a few years now and love them! I used to use a standard size clipper for the hair and these little guys for edging and trimming, beards & mustaches.....but when my reg clippers gave out I had no choice but to use these little guys for a whole haircut...the rest is history. Because of the fact that they are so small, they take up little to no room at my station which is small and tight for space, also....they get a close precise cut...as long as your blade is sharp.
While I agree that the cost of the raplacement blades is a little expensive, I will say that I can use the same blade for 6 months to a year depending on how many cuts I do, without having to replace one.....thats what the oil is for.
All in all I LOVE these little guys and this is one of the best prices I have found....that incldes my beauty supply places!

I recently purchased my second Peanut trimmer. I used the first one for about five years but it was getting too dull and replacement blades aren't that much cheaper than a whole new unit. I still have the original but I keep it around for backup and travel only.
I use this primarily to shave my face and trim my beard. It aggravates my skin far less than ordinary shavers. I have tried a variety of alternatives over the years but I settled on the Peanut because it performs well. Battery-powered clippers lack the power I need and tend to lose their recharge capability over time. The Peanut is AC-powered so it never fades.
The only criticism I can think of is that the attachments are made from the sort of brittle plastic that snaps very easily. If I required them routinely I would lower my rating.

Wow. I am stunned at how well this product works. I have been using a cheap Norelco beard trimmer for several years, but the pieces slowly broke and the motor continued to take longer to charge, hold a charge less, and jam up. I needed a replacement and found this after much research online.
I am very glad that I did - this product is beyond excellent. It trims quickly and never once jammed on me. It feels solid, the cord is long enough (you could always use an extension cord if needed, but I doubt you'll have to resort to this), and the cuts are uniform and clean.
It is a bit on the loud side, but this is about the last thing I'd worry about. I am very impressed with the Peanut, and will easily recommend it to others.

I've been using the Peanut for well over 12 years now. I have owned six or seven Peanuts in that time frame... not because they break, but because as soon as one of my buds shaves their head with it for the first time, they suddenly go missing! Seriously, you cannot ask for a better shave than with the Peanut. Don't let the small size fool you, the motor on this baby can clip even the thickest hair! The ease of being able to control the clippers with just one hand allows you to shave your head, your body, someone else's body! You will not find another shaver like this, I promise you. I've tried and nothing out there comes even close to the Peanut! I just wish they still made them in orange.
