Customer Reviews of Waterpik Cordless Plus Water Flosser/Sensonic Professional Toothbrush System Includes: 1 Cordless Water Flosser and 1 Sonic ToothbrushCustomer Review: I love it! Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this set because I've recently had an issue with swollen & receeding gums. After a week they already look a LOT better!
I really don't see how anyone can say there isn't enough water pressure unless they're not holding it straight so the water flow is impeeded.
The toothbrush: I love that it has two heads so I can have one for my son.
Customer Review: Toothbrush is excellent, the flosser less so Summary: 4 Stars
The sensonic toothbrush is simply wonderful: it looks and feels solidly built, and feels a good deal more powerful than the Braun I had previously. It has that whole "2 minute, four quadrant" thing popular with electrics these days, but lacks any of the silly gimmicks of the Braun like LCD timer displays, using only a short pause every 30 seconds to let you know when to move on to the next quadrant. In my opinion, the less things like that to break, the better.
The cordless waterpik is perfectly functional and will floss the ever living hell out of your teeth and gums (I recommend using the low setting for a couple weeks at least) but it's not without annoying issues when compared to the countertop model: first thing you notice, it's LOUD, and in an echoey bathroom, it sounds like you're running a sawzall. Second, since you're holding the reservoir that must be fed from the bottom, the thing has to be held upright at all times, which makes it exceedingly difficult to get at the back teeth or even behind your bottom teeth without having to angle it in a way that sometimes misses and sprays water everywhere. It's not impossible, but it's awkward to the point where you're likely to miss flossing some parts. Even though the reservoir adds plenty of bulk, it's still quite small, and usually has to be filled a couple times when using it. Thankfully the design makes filling it quick and easy. Finally, the charging cord, while not terrible, doesn't feel terribly solid. I've had it fall out a couple times when I didn't press it in firmly enough.
If you're travelling, this kit is probably your best choice, but for your bathroom at home, you may as well get the superior countertop model of the flosser and the sensonic separately.
Customer Review: Great product, great price! Summary: 4 Stars
This is my first electric toothbrush AND first water flosser. I am really glad I made the purchase. I've had them about three weeks now, only had to charge the flosser once, and the toothbrush twice. The second charge took less than four hours. I haven't really noticed that my teeth are any whiter, but they do feel a LOT cleaner, and for a longer period of time - that fresh from the dentist feel. The 'high' setting on the brush does feel a little intense on my gums sometimes, but I love the 30-second interval timer that helps you brush for a full 2-minutes, covering the front, back, upper, and lower teeth evenly. I do still use a manual toothbrush for a 'once over,' if I feel like I need it before I run leave the house, though.
I use the water flosser at night, and it usually uses 1/3 of the tank. I have a very small gap between my front two teeth (not enough to spend the money on fixing, teeth shifted after braces and a retainer) that regular floss does not always get on the first pass. This does a great job though, far less effort and time needed! My only concern is that the contacts for the charger are exposed in the front of the unit. It would be nice to have some kind of rubber or plastic seal (maybe like a flap of some kind) to keep them from being exposed to water, as it is kind of inevitable due to the basic design of the unit. This is NOT the case with the toothbrush.
Overall, good value for the price, no complaints so far!
Customer Review: Design flaw Summary: 1 Stars
(To be completely fair this is a user review on the Waterpik cordless water flosser- the introductory unit that's $15 dollars less to the Waterpik cordless PLUS unit advertised here. Nevertheless, it's not a waste of time for potential customers and the manufacturer to understand that, there is a fundamental design flow in the reservoir attachement mechanism that's shared between these two models.)
I've been using various countertop dental irragation units for 15+ years, so when I saw the cordless ones at Target I didn't hesitate for one second to give them a try. I purchased the 30-sec Waterpik cordless water flosser but quickly came to find out that it was difficult to put the reservoir and the power handle together. The new hell of buyer's remorse didn't stop there: while following the instruction manual (on page 11) to remove the reservoir from the power handle, nothing moved at all. No clicking sound, no fissure , not any identifiable indication to show that the unit is parting itself as the manual suggested it would.
For this reason I had to return the Waterpik cordless water flosser.
I will remain a faithful customer to Waterpik but please spend more time in designing a cordless unit that's more easily to assemble and remove. I understand this is not a piece of m-16 that our lives depend on it if we couldn't accomplish putting it together in 5 seconds with a blindfold on, but just be reminded that one of your veteran customers came up short while attempting to take better care of the flosser unit.
