Customer Reviews of Waterpik Ultra Water FlosserCustomer Review: Best Water Pik Yet. I am impressed. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best water pik ever.
I have used water piks for over 20 years. I did an experiment once to see if using a water pik was really effective. I stopped using my water pik but continued to brush and floss every day. After two months I started using the water pik again and got some blood from my gums. This convinced me that the water pik is useful and necessary for good oral health.
When I first started using a water pik I set the strength to 2. Now after having used it consistently I have it set to 10 and it does not hurt my gums. They are much stronger from using the pik.
I water pik, floss, water pik again, rinse with an oral rinse, and brush once a day before bed. I am almost 56 years old and I still have all my original teeth. Well, I have one crown but there is still some tooth underneath the crown :-).
This newest water pik is very well designed. The controls are placed more conveniently and ergonomically than the older models. The controls have a better feel. The coiled tube is much easier to return with no tangles. On the older models you have to fiddle with the tube to get it to coil back up neatly.
The water stream is heavier, it pumps out more water. The reservoir holds 20 ounces. The nozzle swivels easier than any of the other models.
There are fewer little nooks on this model to clean. So it needs less attention to keep looking like new.
But the other models were not all that hard to keep clean.
A very well designed and engineered machine. I am impressed.
Customer Review: Excellent Product Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this form amazon.com for my personal use. I bought it form amazon.com because its best value among some retailers.
My dentist Dr.Hament Kale & Dr.Deval Kale (India) recommended me for implant and crown product. I express my thanks to them with this review.
The water Pik now become apart of my daily routine. This would sure relief us from bad breath, prevent cavities. Before I buy this, there is wrong notion to me that flossing and brushing was enough. I think that Water Pik will sure bypass us from dental disease. This Ultra 100 model is powerful and does the job excellent. Remove bacteria deep between teeth and below the gum line where brushing and floss are not reach. This is great for the people with implants, crowns, bridges. This is best product among Sonicare,oral-B and others.
I like its feature: 6 unique tips, pressure control system with 10 settings, 5 to 9 psi, pause button on handle, can be used with water or mouthwash, smaller and compact model, reservoir with built tip storage.
If anyone want to use this product in India. I will suggest buy voltage converter. I would suggest one URL: [...]
I suggest Water Pik company manufacture their product can be use universal power 120v and 220
Yes, with this model there is tong cleaner is not sufficiently work. I suggest company to refer tong cleaner , use in India inverted U shape (metal use like S.S, Copper and silver) copper are best among this because copper will not corrosion and copper is also good for health.
Customer Review: Good product, word of warning about putting in listerine/mouthwash Summary: 5 Stars
Like many others, I'll say this item works great. The last years, I added a sonicare toothbrush, this, glide floss and a tongue sweeper pro (scraper) to the arsenal. The combined cost is less than a single dental problem - so if they prevent anything, that's automatically money back in my pocket.
I've used Waterpiks for 3 years now, the first one died on me after the first year. However, I used to add a cup of listerine to my first one for extra cleaning. After some time, when I thought the water container became grungy, I rinsed it and used a paper towel to clean it out. The paper towel came out extremely purple (same color as the water container) - it was obvious that the plastic was dissolving somehow but I thought it was just really cheap plastic or something. This happened everytime I cleaned it. After it died, I got a new waterpik (same model) and as an experiment I only put water into it. It's been 2 years and I never put listerine in it, and when I wipe the inside of the container, nothing smears off at all.
So, personally, I just use concentrated listerine after waterpikking and never put it in the machine itself. I figure some of the complaints of broken machines may be traced back to this practice. Either the dissolved gunk from the container clogs up the motor over time, or listerine has that effect on the internal plastic components as well. Perhaps Waterpik fixed this in the meantime, seems like a glaring defect to how many people use it, but just a word of caution.
Customer Review: Waterpik Summary: 5 Stars
Recently my husband and I have braces. We tried the dental floss bit with the device supplied by the orthodontist used to thread the floss through the braces was not only time consuming, but the floss got wrapped around the braces culminating in total ineffectiveness.
The Waterpik is a dream come true. I have been using the orange tip and the brush tip. I put the strength on 8. I read in a review that anything under 6 is worthless. This device makes my teeth sparkle and lifts out all kinds of food partials that I wouldn't have even thought were there at all. It cleans deep into the gum line. I find it difficult but not impossible to do the inside teeth. Apparently, our sinuses are somehow beyond the roof of our mouth because if you spray too hard there you will feel it in the sinus area.
I read a review that complained about the pik because it leaked water all over the place. That problem is not possible because we are told in the directions to leave the pik empty. The water problem I have is spray from the force of the water. You have to make sure to keep that tip inside your mouth at all times or the spray will be all over where ever you point the tip. That is a very small price to pay for such a clean feeling in your teeth.
This product is a MUST HAVE for anyone with braces. If you don't have braces you could do just as well with a sonic electric toothbrush and floss. We are going on a Caribbean cruise in three weeks and will bring the pik with us. It's THAT good! :)
Customer Review: a must have! Summary: 5 Stars
some reviewers have said how said how the waterpik dental jet's aren't what they used to be, they complain mainly about not having enough power and the hose being to short.
for some reason, i do agree with the other reviewers, and i do think that it would be nice to have more power, but if you think about it, it can't be very healthy to your teeth to use so much pressure twice a day, so if you look at it from that point of view, maybe it's a good thing that there isn't too much power.
if you use the water jet while standing up, you will find that the hose is to short, but if you're like me and use it bent over, you won't have any problems.
i usually only fill the water reservoir 3/4, so it's more than big enough.
overall, i really like this water jet, because even after thoroughly brushing my teeth, this water jet still removes some food particles, and it's much better than flossing, because the water jet also rinses under you're gum's, and you can't do that when you floss.
note: 50$ is very cheap if you compare it to some other water jet's or water jet's in other country's.
EDIT: if waterpik ever considers improving this model, there is one thing i would like to see:
in winter, the normal tap water is very cold and unpleasant to to use in the waterjet, and the warm water from the boiler in the garage takes a while to reach the tap, so it would be a lot easier to have a built in water heater in the water jet.
