I found the Water Pik to work just fine. I had used one maybe 15 years ago and had switched to dental floss and an Oral B oscillating toothbrush. My back tooth had shown some gum separation as reported by my dentist. So I added the Water Pik to my regimen (additional 2 minutes or so) and find that it has tightened my gums such that some initial bleeding stopped after about 5 applications. The Water Pik seems just as reliable to me as the one I used many years ago and while there is some extra water that needs to be wiped away at the edge of the sink, this is far from messy and, I believe, well worth adding for improved protection against gum problems.Customer Review: Bought another WaterPik

I cannot tell you how many water pik I have had over the years. It is an integral part of my teeth and gum maintenance. I am 64 years old and I just got a cleaning. I don't think I been to the dentist for two years. I saw the x-rays and all the teeth roots are healthy, no cavities.
I don't know what I would do without the waterpik, even after flossing, and brushing my teeth, the water pik finds something. So does it make noise, I don't care, it could send up ballons, as long as it does its job.
I love my waterpik

Think you teeth are clean after brushing? This little gadget quickly gets rid of in between bits no tooth brush can reach. The WaterPik also cleans out sinus congestion when you're stuffy. We had the WaterPik WP-70 before but could only find the WP-65 this time. We still don't know what the differences are between the two models. Our previous WaterPik, used daily, lasted about three years before the high pressure hose sprung a leak. This item is well worth the price but plan to replace it every three or so years.Customer Review: Saved me from a world of pain

I purchased my WP-65 in May '05 and started using it just about every night for the last five months. My dentist was amazed that my gums were in such good shape when I went to see him. Typically I'd go to the dentist and get a half-hour lecture about gum care and then I'd have to go to weeks of subgingival cleanings which were painful & expensive. Not anymore... my WaterPik has saved me the pain, the bills & the lectures.Customer Review: Great product

This was a replacement for a water pik I have been using since 1967. It finally wore out. The current model does just as good a job and has a few style changes that make it more convenient to use. I paid $25 for my first one in 1967 dollars. I was delighted with today's price. My dentist urged me to buy the first one and over the years I have maintained the teeth and gums to prove it's effectiveness.
