The fact that the rechargeable does not have a cord to get tangled-up, and that it cost less than the regular type, was my main reason's for buying it.
The only problems I have found are that it does not last as long as the corded Waterpik (my first one lost it's battery charging ability after about one year of constant use). And the water reservoir is so small I need to fill it two to three times while using.
However, I am very pleased with it. And would only suggest that the maker change the design to include a replaceable battery so users could just replace the battery instead of buying a whole new Waterpik.

This is the 2nd battery operated water pik I have owned. I really enjoy it. I'm 76 years old and find I can maintain better comfort with my teeth using dental floss and a water pik. Depending upon what I eat determines how easy it is to clean out the particles lodged in between my teeth and gums. After using the water pik my teeth and mouth feel cleansed and fresh more so than just brushing. The advantage of the battery version of the water pik is its size. Its easier to move to a drawer and doesn't need to add to the counter top clutter. It's also easy to travel with. For me, the jet stream is more than adequate to get the job done.Customer Review: I like it!

Gives a good, effective cleaning between teeth especially with the high-pressure tip. Charge lasts for not less than two weeks or so. After using for the first few times I flossed to find out what was left behind, and was impressed to find very little if anything but wax on my floss. I've gotten good enough to do my whole mouth with one tankful, but I do it twice to be sure, plus i enjoy the gum massage. When I first started it took 4 tanks to do my whole mouth, so don't give up. I travel a lot so this compact rechargeable version suits me better than the large-tank version of the waterpik.Customer Review: Waterpik

This thing is amazing. I read some reviews before I purchased and some had negetive remarks but not me. I plugged it in and charged it for the full 16 hours reccomended before first use and I haven't recharged it yet. It took about three uses to get the hang of how to use and turn it. It is quite messy but if your leaning over a sink that's the whole point. It's amazing at how much is between teeth yuck but it definetely does the job. I have only used the low pressure tip and that's plenty for my needs. Would recommend to everyone.Customer Review: waterpik for a particularly picky person!

I don't know why this got such bad reviews . . . this is GREAT to use in the shower. It stays charged for about a week at a time. There is no bothersome cord and all the spray mess is just fine in the shower. The force of the spray seems just right - although a little strong on some sensitive areas. Since the warm water is already flowing it's easy to fill up - the resevoir is just right - if it was any bigger it wouldn't be as easy to hold. Also, it's not as big and noisy as the other type units. Give it a try - I am glad that I did!
