My wife bought me one of these five years ago. It certainly amplifies sound well, including the sound of my fingers on the business end, and anything brushing against the tubing. Allowing for this, I could hear heart sounds beautifully.
However, all the weight is concentrated near the diaphragm, making it a very heavy pendulum around the neck.
Not to be ignored is the 'fright factor.' The bulky black head is frightening to children, and even some adults found it a little disconcerting.
At this point, the electronics have become unreliable, and it's well past warranty. I'm looking into other electronic stethoscopes, but I wouldn't buy another of these!
