First, a little background: I have carpal tunnel from too much time on the computer, and have been told that for the foreseeable future I'll need to wear braces whenever I'm at the computer, driving, or sleeping. So . . . pretty much all the time. I had a pair from the grocery store for a long time, but they were cumbersome, the velcro scratched me at night, and they got unbearably stinky (even with repeated washing). My hands are on the large side for women - I wear a medium in latex gloves - and my wrists are fairly slim.
These braces are GREAT. I've had one for each side that I've worn 18-20 hours a day for 2 months now. They are lower-profile than most braces - barely noticeable under long sleeves. They don't come up as high in your palm so they are less in the way. They are perfectly comfortable to type in and keep your wrists in place with just a touch of wiggle room. They do get dingy after a while, being white and light grey, and when I tried washing them on gentle cycle, one of them had some of the stitching tear out - so maybe you should stick to hand-washing, like the instructions say. Another bonus is that there is no exposed hard surface, so I can rest them on my brand-new laptop while typing without fear of scratching it, and no exposed scratchy velcro, which is much more pleasant for me and my husband while sleeping.
I like these braces enough that I'm done shopping around. I'm ordering my second pair now! (the originals still have some life in them, I just want a second pair as backups).
