Customer Review: Zoic Protein Smoothie Recipe

I call it a "protein shake" because it makes me feel like one of those super-healthy people I see at the gym doing cardio for hours on end. Also it reminds me of when Jerry asks George if he wants a protein shake while Newman is waiting outside his door. Only Seinfeld nerds like me will get that reference. Anyway, I recently discovered Zoic (thank you Hungry Girl!) and I love it! I mean it doesn't taste wonderful, like I want to drink 4 in a day, but it is pretty tasty. And if it did taste wonderful I totally would be drinking 4 in a day and that would not be good. I buy both the chocolate and vanilla Zoic, but I'm partial to the chocolate but only because I think it mixes up into a more milkshake-y drink when blended. Here's what I do. I put 5 or 6 ice cubes into a blender, 2 or 3 tablespoons of Wheatgerm (it's a *superfood* that every nutritionist says you should have), a tablespoon of Splenda (not always, just sometimes), a whole frozen banana (broken into a few pieces so it blends quicker, I just buy fresh bananas at the store, peel them when they're ripe and freeze them), and a can of chocolate Zoic. Blend it for a minute or 2 and enjoy! I think it's the best way to have a Zoic, but I do drink them by themselves on days when I'm in a hurry. They are good by themselves but they do take a little getting used to I think. I also like to do the same thing as above only substitute a handful of frozen strawberries for the bananas and a can of french vanilla Zoic instead of chocolate.Customer Review: Great For Post - Gastric Bypass Nutrition

I am 5 years out from my operation (RNY) and solid food has little appeal after dealing with eating too much or too fast, etc. My surgeon calls it "negative behavioral reinforcement" - I call it "pouch purge".
I discovered Zoic while speaking to another patient during a post op visit. She raved about it. I went out immediately and bought it, loved it and it has been my primary form of nutrition ever since. I have consulted my surgeon, 2 nutritionists and my family doctor and no one could shoot holes in the product - is a really great nutrition in a can!
It was always a challenge trying to find enough Zoic in local stores - they do no stock very much and it's only available in the biggest supermarkets. This new Amazon service is the best thing since - well, since I gave up sliced bread!
The subscription service, the quick turnaround and the price - big big savings. And my wife doesn't have to shlep the heavy boxes home in the weekly shopping.

Note to purists: If you shop at Whole Foods you probably won't be interested in this product. They won't carry Zoic as some ingredients are artifical. On well.....

I am in the ketosis/induction phase of a reduced calorie low carb diet and have been looking for a low fat low carb nutrition drink. This is it.
Most of the other "nutrition" drinks on the market are either high in fat calories, carb calories or both.
For a high protein low fat (1 gram per serving) low carb drink I think it tastes remarkably good. Using the Atkins Advantage milk chocolate delight shake as taste/flavor/texture reference point, ZOIC is less robust in flavor and not as thick. I would NOT call ZOIC watery. Gatorade is watery.
The Atkins Advantage drinks taste good but half of their calories come from fat. Good for gaining weight. For me ZOIC is palatable and more nutritious. I really can't see why people try this product and complain about its taste. If you are looking for a milk shake go to a fast food joint.
In summary, ZOIC offers major nutritional benefits and minor flavor concessions when compared to other nutrition drinks on the market. I will buying the ZOIC Belgian chocolate flavor again, and I will be trying the vanilla flavor soon! As much as I love Amazon I wish retail stores in my neck of the woods carried ZOIC.

My husband bought Zoic to replace the Slimfast we were using, he quit the Zoic after one day due to the flavor. It does not have the thick rich flavor of slimfast but I wouldn't trade the flavor for the results I have gotten. I continue to use it, along with a healthy low carb, mod fat diet, min to mod exercise. Previously, I could have lived off of Little Debbie cakes and junk food. I have tried quite a few diets over the past 5 years,this time it took about two weeks to get over the sugar cravings. Once the sweets were gone, the weight started to come off. Before 5' at 167lbs, currently 157lbs, started using Zoic about the second week of January. I could not be happier with the results from using Zoic and a carefully controled diet. I think I may be on Zoic for life. It is my snack of choice now, it fills me up and I leave the junk alone. And ladies let me tell you the belly fat is going away. I am pushing 50, afraid of being fat for the rest of my life and hopefully I have found part of the answer.Customer Review: It tastes okay and it's a great combo of low carbs, high protein, and low-ish calories.

I'm on a restricted carb and calorie diet, and I work out several times a week and need the extra protein boost, so I find a can of this handy to take to the gym with me. I drink one immediately after working out or during my workout if I'm there for longer than 90 minutes. It's also great when traveling or as a quickie breakfast on the run or as a snack.
I switched from slimfast low-carb cans to Zoic because these have about 100 fewer calories per can. It's more liquidy tasting and less filling than the slimfast, but I mostly use it as a supplement or snack and not as a meal replacement, so that's fine. Its chocolate taste is surprisingly okay.
The biggest advantages to me is its combination of almost no "real" carbs, high protein (21 g), 3 g of fiber, and 110 cals, making it a really high-powered snack.
