I tried a box of ZonePerfect Mint bars at my local grocer since my favorite brand, Slim Fast, was out of stock. For the past 7-10 years I have used Slim Fast bars as meal replacements, and have officially bought my last box - ever.
These beat the other brand in numerous ways. The increased saturated fat is a plus for me, as I have been researching fats and their effect on the body. The increased protein was a pleasant surprise, too, at about 6 grams more than your average Slim Fast bar. And the final point that won me over to ZonePerfect bars was the taste. So far I have tried these, the dark chocolate caramel pecan, and the graham cracker flavors and never knew meal bars could taste so GOOD! Even though Slim Fast had caught up a bit in this area these ZonePerfect bars just blow them out of the water.
I save money here on Amazon with S&S - not too much but hey, every bit helps right?
These are minty, kind of like a Peppermint Patty so if in doubt give a different flavor a try. The caramel pecan ones are sinful.
I also feel more comfortable bringing these into the house since Slim Fast bars are a may contain for peanuts, and the ZonePerfect bars are a "processed in the same facility" type warning. Although I do not allow my PA daughter to eat these, I do feel more safe buying these.
