After reading others' purchases from sellers other than this one, I was hesitant to buy a Verilux bulb over the internet. They are so expensive! (especially when son knocked over lamp, and it softly fell onto the carpeting!). But this seller's picture of the bulb for sale was the actual item, and I know that if I didn't get an actual Verilux, I could/would return it.
It was perfect, packaged by Amazon so it wouldn't break, and went into the floor lamp like a charm. It was a real Verilux, too, as I kept the broken one for comparison (and if it isn't, doesn't matter..it's working wonderfully).

I was on vacation when the replacement bulb arrived. I have had a verilux for two years. When I moved from Los Angeles to Toronto I brought the lamp with bulb with me. On arrival the bulb was broken. It was hard to find a replacement so I was happy that Amazon came through for me again. It is a small item, but the lamp is so good for reading it was a delight to have it in use again. I think there was a delay in delivery since I used a Canadian Visa. I guess it got used so I'm even grateful for that. I would recommend a verilux lamp to anyone. I have owned the verilux standard lamp for several years. (My husband is a diabetic with very poor eyesight, but he loves to read.) When the bulb eventually gave up, nothing else came up to its performance. I bought a replacement bulb and once again he's happy.Customer Review: It Works

I've been using this replacement bulb for about a month now and it seems to be a clone of the original equipment bulb. We'll see how long it lasts, but I wasn't all that thrilled with the original bulb's lifespan.
